Who is Patient Choice? - An Overview

Who are we?

We serve as a bridge that connects plan members to the full range of benefits and resources offered by their insurance package, often at $0 out-of-pocket.

How do we compare to using your traditional health insurance plan through HPI?

If you use your traditional insurance..

  • You must meet your deductible
  • Pay co-pays for office visits
  • Pay co-insurance
  • Network Limitations (In-network vs Out-of-network)
  • Unexpected procedure costs (i.e. Pathology)

If you use Patient Choice..

  • $0 out-of-pocket costs to you

...But how? L&F has elected for you to have access to Patient Choice resources. We use a network of vendor partners who negotiate the costs of non-emergent appointments and procedures up-front, taking your health insurance out of the process. Often, these negotiated costs are much lower than the amounts billed to insurance. For this reason, if you schedule your qualifying appointments and procedures through Patient Choice, L&F will cover the cost and you will not see a bill. 

 

What type of appointments and procedures qualify for scheduling through Patient Choice?

We can work to schedule the following non-emergent services:

  • High-resolution Imaging (including but not limited to the following)
    • Examples: MRI, CT Scan, Ultrasound, Mammogram, Pet Scan, X-rays
  • Out-patient Procedures (including but not limited to the following)
    • Examples: Colonoscopies, Endoscopies, Stress tests
  • Out-patient Surgeries
    • Examples: Knee and Joint surgeries, Hernia repair, Carpal Tunnel Surgery
  • Lab Work

Bottom Line- There is A LOT that we may be able to schedule for you at $0 out-of-pocket cost. It is always encouraged to give us a call regarding any of your healthcare needs. If we cannot directly assist, we will point in the direction of your benefits that can.
